Atmoph Window 2 | DEATH STRANDING

Atmoph and DEATH STRANDING might seem like an unexpected combination. While they have pretty different vibes at first glance, I’ve always felt like they have some underlying connection if I’m being honest (even if that seems really far-fetched). I’ve kept in mind, as Director Kojima put it in an interview, the “delicate strands connecting people and new worlds” while developing the Atmoph Window.

I myself have been a huge fan of Mr. Kojima and Kojima Productions’ work since I was a kid – it feels almost like Kojima Productions’ DNA was injected into me through playing their games. They’ve probably had an influence on how I develop products.

When we were in the initial stages of developing Atmoph Window 2 | DEATH STRANDING, I was invited to the offices of Kojima Productions. Upon seeing Ludens, I got the chills. It felt like I was stepping on hallowed ground.

It’s really exciting to get the chance to work with them on this project, both as a team member at Atmoph and as a fan. I’ll do my best to deliver great content for both fans of Kojima Productions and the users of the Atmoph Window!

Traveling through Games

Bringing CG game worlds to the Atmoph Window has been a sizable challenge for our company, which up until now has been filming real world locations. With the recent evolution of game graphics, gamers often find themselves immersed in the game world when playing, making it feel like you’ve actually traveled there yourself. DEATH STRANDING in particular does that, giving players an experience that feels just like climbing a snowy mountain, tired to the bone.

These game experiences can even become “memories” of a sort, to the point that you might think “This looks like the scenery I saw in the game!” when climbing an actual mountain. It seems like, in our minds, the memories of the adventures in-game exist alongside real memories of our travels. I think that Atmoph Window 2 | DEATH STRANDING will both bring back fond memories of playing the game for those who have played DEATH STRANDING, as well as allow Atmoph Window users who have yet to play the game to experience a new world.

Our studio team has been working hard on production and direction to deliver the new scenes by the end of the year, but even they’ve been saying there’s too many good scenes to only pick a few! We hope you’re looking forward to it and that you’ll put in a pre-order!

Note: Atmoph Window 2 | DEATH STRANDING is available now (shop within 5-7 business days) and Pre-order for “Edition Pass | DEATH STRANDING Vol. 2” starts. (April, 2022).

PS: During our meeting at the Kojima Productions office, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Kojima himself!

I was so nervous I could barely say anything worthwhile, but he was kind enough to sign some things including some posters that had nothing to do with our work. It felt like a dream – truly amazing! The box for the Atmoph Window 2 | DEATH STRANDING that Mr. Kojima and Mr. Yoji Shinkawa signed has become the crown jewel of the Atmoph office.
